there is a 2nd half line that come out a couple minutes after the 1st half finishes. These lines are available to bet on until the start of teh 2nd half and take in account the spread and total for the 2nd half action only. Totally separate from the first half or full game results.
There are no 2nd half lines available to bet on until the game goes to half. In other words, you can't bet 2nd half totals or spreads before the games starts.
Some books will let you bet on all 4 quarters before the game starts. Totals and spreads. Guys that bet on the 3rd or 4th Quarters before the game starts are real die hard bettors.
so if teamA is down by 4, let's say 54-50 and the 2nd half line is +9 and you bet them +9, then all that teamA has to do win the 2H or lose by 8 points or less to be a winner. If the final is 112-100 for teamB, you win. 113-100 TeamB, its a push. 114-100 teamB, you lose.
the only score you have to worry is the 2nd half score
